Bulgarian Frescos

This page will include exhibitions of frescos from Bulgarian monasteries, the result of a pilgrimage my family and I made between 2006 and 2012 to 140 monasteries in Bulgaria, many of which are abandoned. The quality of the frescos is staggering – particularly those of St Pimen of Zograf, which date to the beginning of the seventeenth century – and I hope this will be evident in the exhibitions, which will show frescos from a particular monastery or on a particular theme (scenes from the life of Christ).
